Overnights

Overnights are held regularly at our secure and fully accessible Fortune Green Playcentre. Sessions typically run from 11am on Saturday until 11am on Sunday and are themed around natural and sensory play, with the children's interests and abilities at the heart of every activity.

Case Study

Laurie has been attending PACE’s Overnight Adventures for about four years. 3-4 times a year, he stays at Fortune Green play centre over a weekend, giving his parents 24 hours of respite. As with many other families who use the service, this is the only time they get this level of respite.

What Support is Available?

When you start our Overnights service, we will meet with you and your child to discuss your child's needs, the types of activities they enjoy and how we can best provide support. During sessions your child will be given 1:1 support (or 2:1 if needed).

What Happens at Overnights?

We plan each overnight session to fit the specific needs, likes and dynamics of the group. Please let us know if your child has any particular interests and we will be happy to incorporate them into our plans. We aim to provide each child with the opportunity to grow in independence in a safe, fun and friendly environment.

Children will sleep in small groups inside the Playcentre, with comfortable sleeping bags and camping beds are provided.

Some popular activities include:

• Sensory play

• Natural play

• Arts and crafts

• Storytelling

• Night time torch walks

• Bonfire and barbeque

We will also support your child to develop life skills such as cooking, grocery shopping and night time routines.
