Whether you’re an individual looking to give back or part of a group eager to make a difference together, PACE has rewarding volunteering opportunities for you.
From supporting inclusive play sessions and lending a hand at special events to sprucing up our facilities to ensure welcoming, vibrant spaces for children, we offer meaningful ways to get involved. Your time and energy directly benefit children and young people in Camden, helping us build a playful, inclusive community.
Individual volunteering
We have volunteering roles available for people who can share their skills in areas such as fundraising, administration, IT, HR, marketing, photography, videography, trades, music, play, art and sports.
We also have opportunities to work directly with children and may be able to offer placements to people who are studying for childcare, play or early years qualifications.
We are committed to safeguarding and expect our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. For roles working directly with children and young people, we ask for a minimum commitment of 6 months, and we will need to conduct an enhanced criminal records check and receive 2 references before you can start volunteering.
Individual volunteering case study: Tania

Tania started volunteering at PACE as part of her Level 2 childcare course in 2019 and continued volunteering after her course finished. She is still with us as a paid team member.
“I enjoy the teamwork, the place and most of all I LIKE interacting with the kids. It’s an environment where you can learn, share experiences and be supported.”
“Some of the other students reported that in some places that volunteers didn’t get to do any work, but at PACE you have freedom to work and practice your skills.”
Corporate or group volunteering
We have short-term volunteer opportunities for groups and businesses who are looking to give back to the community. Opportunities include lending expertise on IT, data and administrative projects, as well as facilities improvement projects.
Corporate volunteering case study: Mace Group
Over 5 days in June 2024, a dedicated team of volunteers from Mace Group rolled up their sleeves and gave Fairfield’s outdoor area a much-needed facelift. The team painted the fences, playground and sports pitch markings, removed old frames and made new paths.
Their hard work and enthusiasm revitalised the outdoor space, making it more enjoyable for all the children. The children at Fairfield absolutely love their revamped outdoor area. It’s now a vibrant, engaging space where they can play, learn, and grow. We are incredibly grateful for the hard work and dedication of everyone involved.
