Early Years Deputy Manager/SENCo

This is a full time position in Camden, London

Job title: Early Years Deputy/SENCo

Location: Fairfield Play Centre, Mary Terrace, London NW1 7LR

Salary: £18,828 per annum

Reporting to: Early Years Lead Practitioner

Responsible for: Early Years Workers, sessional staff, volunteers, interns and placement workers

Annual Leave: 28 days per annum (including public holidays) pro-rata

Hours: 33 hours per week, term-term (39 weeks per annum), 35 hours per week, holiday (1 week per annum)

In accordance to your job role as deputy SENCo you will also be required to work some weekends as part of the extended play offer.

Job purpose and Context:

The Deputy/SENCo will contribute to the management of the day-to-day operations of Preschool services to deliver high quality, inclusive, childcare, play and learning opportunities for children aged 2-4 years and to fulfil the role of named SENCo for the setting. Your responsibilities will be to work in partnership with the Early Years Lead Practitioner to create and retain a happy and committed staff team, lead them in the creation of a welcoming, stimulating, safe environment, which supports children’s development and well-being, and help develop the foundations for children’s future progress through school and life. As a key member of the management team at the setting, you will work effectively with stakeholders and develop positive relationships with parents/carers.

PACE is a user-led, grass-roots charity founded in 2011 by a group of parents and play work professionals in Camden to establish high quality inclusive play services in the borough. We now operate a range of services for children aged 2-18 years. We enjoy strong links within the local community and employ a highly experienced, expert staff team.
